Masters X-mas Race 2025 - Stavanger

This competition will be held according to the under-mentioned conditions, the Regulations of the International Masters’ Speed Skating Committee (IMSSC), the Regulations of the International Skating Union (ISU). This competition takes place on the 400m indoor standard speed-skating track of Vår Energi Arena Sørmarka, on artificial ice. This competition is an event of the IMSSC International Masters’, the International ISU’s and the Norwegian Skating Federation’s 2025/2026 Calendars.

Distances & Choices

This is a Single Distance competition. It is open to Ladies and Men of the following age groups:

• Masters from 30-99 up to a maximum number of 120 participants.

Pursuant to Art. 4.2, Single Distances and All-Round Competitions, of Rule 4: International Masters’ Records (IMSSC Records) of IMSSC Constitution and Regulations, records will be registered for all single distances.

Regarding the details, please, refer to IMSSC Rules no. 4.2, 4.4.6, 3.1.1. Skaters can choose distances, according to the following schedule:

Saturday, December 6th 2025:

500 m - 1 - Men and Women

1.500 m - Men and Women

Sunday, December 7th 2025:

500 m - 2 - Men and Women

1.000 m - Men and Women

3.000 m - Men and Women

Rankings for all distances and age groups are formed based on the best times achieved by each skater in the chosen distances. Upon decision of the Referee and the O.C., quartet starts may be used in any distance.

Eligibility

To be eligible, a skater must be a member of a National Speed Skating Federation recognized by the ISU, and must have a license of his/her Federation.

There will be carried out random checks if registered skaters have paid the license. If it is discovered that a registered skater does not have a valid license, he/she cannot start in the race. If it shall be discovered that a skater has participated without a valid license, his/her results from the competition will be cancelled.

Drawing & Classification

Neighbored five-year age groups with a small number of participants may be combined for drawing and racing (in these combined age groups, the age group of each skater will be written in the protocol, after his/her name). In spite of that, each five-year age group has its own classification, independent of its number of participants. The athlete who completes his/her trial in each single distance and obtains the best time in his/her age group wins that distance.

Prizes and Results

There are no prizes in the competition. Results will be available in the web-site.

Doping control

Anti-doping tests may be in effect, in accordance with ISU Rule 139.

Liability

In Accordance with ISU Rule 119, ISU, IMSSC and the Organizing Committee assume no responsibility for, or liability with respect to, bodily or personal injury, or property damages, incurred in connection with this competition. Each skater or accompanying person is solely responsible for providing insurance coverage thereto.

Training times and the time schedule are available during the week before the competition (please ask for details at the Arena's administrative office). Skaters and coaches have to pay the ordinary entrance fee each day. Prices available on the site.

Entries

Norwegian participants:

· All Norwegian participants must register via iSonen. This system has an integrated payment system. It will also ensure that all have a valid license before the registration can be completed.

Foreign participants:
